(Day #58) Manila, The Philippines

Happy Birthday Deanna!

We took a cab to the Manila Temple.  The roads are crazy!!!!  As long as you don’t hit a car everything else is fair game.  That includes driving down a lane on the road.  The really busy roads had police directing traffic.  It seemed like a very long ride across the city.  Once again the temple was closed for maintenance.

It is a beautiful temple and grounds.  On the drive there, you could find nice buildings and a lot of shanties.

Instead of going back to the ship, we had our cab driver take us to the largest Mall in Asia.  We paid him and sent him on so that we wouldn’t feel rushed.

I have never been to a mall that security checks your bag before you can get in.  There was security everywhere!!  The mall was so big.  Emily could have spent days there.IMG_2651 (Small) IMG_2652 (Small)

We had a wonderful lunch while we were there.  It was funny to see the waiters in cowboy boots and western shirt.IMG_2659 (Small) IMG_2667 (Small)

These are called jeepenies.  They are everywhere and each one looks different.

We took a cab back to the ship.
