Last but not least is St. Peter’s Square. There are hundreds of blue folding chairs set up in front of the Basilica. They are blocked off so the tourists don’t sit on them.
The Swiss Guard is the Pontiff’s bodyguard.
We were so exhausted but thrilled by the experience. We said good by to our Rome guide. We waited until our bus came and picked us up. I was thankful that Dennis was feeling better and could do most of the day tour.
Not long after we got back to Civitavacchia, our ship left the port headed towards Spain.
