We went up to the house of Virgin Mary. This is where Mary was suppose to spent her last days. This was located up the mountain about four miles from the city of Ephesus. The building has been rebuilt over the foundation.
This was a well.
No one could take pictures inside.
People would write messages on napkins and tuck them on to these walls. The messages would be prayers or asking for blessings.
We traveled back down the mountain to the old city of Ephesus.
We were able to go into a building constructed over the ruins called the Terrace Houses. This site has been open to the public only for the past couple of years. It is the newly excavated section of Ephesus. Work is still going on in this part.
