About 10:00 am the captain came on the intercom and told us that we are not going to Newfoundland tomorrow. He said that the weather conditions had deteriorated and were really bad. According to our "Patter" the ice waters between the coasts of Greenland and Northern Canada are always very dangerous because icebergs drift down. It said that even using present day technology, icebergs in that area are not easily detected by mariners. It was in those waters that the Titanic went down.
Tomorrow is going to be another sea day and then on Monday morning we are going to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The captain said that he had heard that there was betting going on with 7 to 1 odds if we would make our next port. We have never had so many ports cancelled.
This afternoon there has been fog all around us.
