We got up at 5:45 am to get ready for our 7:15 tour. We couldn't believe it but the sky was clear and the sun was shinning!!
We went down for our tour sticker and sat down in the lounge with about half the ship and we waited. And we waited. And we waited.
The captain finally came on the intercom and told us that the winds were to hard. He told us that he would try for another two hours. Besides the winds blowing, our problem was that our ship was three times longer than the pier. Tender service was not an option.
We went back to our room to wait the two hours to see if the winds would settled down. And we waited. And we waited. No such luck. We did not get to go to Akureyri, Iceland!!
(Sharon and I were happy to miss a trip to the museum.)
Sharon and I played our first game of Bingo and of course we didn't win. Dennis took me to a fancy restaurant here on the ship.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain
