Day 19 - Bergen, Norway

We had a eight hour tour through the cruise line. Our bus ride gave us a wonderful view of the country with it's many mountains, fjords, mountain tunnels, water falls, and homes.

Norway was occupied by the Germans in World War II and we saw where there was a concentration camp.

At one point we had a ferry ride. The bus just drove on to the ferry and we were floated across to the other side of the water.

Our destination that day was to visit the Holdhus Old Church. It is one of only 27 old wooden churches that Norway is trying to preserve. It started to rain as we left.

We had a wonderful lunch in the village of Oystese.

We must have gone through about 12 or 15 mountain tunnels to get back to Bergen. It was really raining now. It rains at least 300 days a year. Very, Very expensive country.

That night at dinner, the captain informed us that due to inclement weather we would be staying at the Bergen dock overnight. This meant that our trip to the Shetland Island was canceled.

We won't know until tomorrow night if we will get to go to the Farros Islands.
