Day 39 - Last Day Of Vacation

We took the Hilton shuttle to catch the train (subway) to go into town. After breakfast we walked down to the waterfront and got on the Old Town Trolley Tours. This is a hop on and hop off tour bus. The tour bus takes you to stops close to all the attractions. Some attractions would still require walking another couple of blocks one way to get to them.

We had already decided that we would see what we could see of Boston by just staying on the bus. Before the day was over, we had traveled the complete trip twice.

We heard about:
1. Feneuil Hall
2. Paul Revere House
3. Old North Church
4. Copps Hill Burying Ground
5. The Old State House & the Boston Massacre Site
6. King's Chapel and the Burying Ground

These were just a few of the sites on the tour.

We stopped at the Cheers Pub stop and walked accross the stree to the Boston Public Gardens. We took pictures of the "Make Way for Ducklings" statues.

Some more sites we passed were of the "Boston Garden" and the much loved "Fenway Ballpark". While we were going pass Harvard and MIT Univerities area we saw the missionaries walking. Of course I had to yell "Hi Elders!"

There is a area in Boston where many many years ago it was decided to fire all the employees that light and extinguish the gas street laterns every day. They were left to burn 24/7. It was suppose to be cheaper than paying wages. I guess it still must be true because they are stilling burning all day long.

We loved the fall flowers that the Hilton was having planted while we were there.

We had a wonderful sunset that night that could be seen from our hotel room.

It was a great last full day of vacation!!
