Our two days in Sydney were fantastic! We did not book any excursions with the cruise ship but had Dennis as our guide. He did great. It was sprinkling a little when we first got off the ship but we made our way over to the Sydney Opera House.




After we did our picture taking, Dennis bought tickets for us to take the Caption Cook Harbour Cruise.








We saw many beautiful homes built next to the water. The cruise guide told us that these homes would cost in the millions of dollars. She showed us one house that cost 53 million dollars. (that leaves me out) She told us that the west side of Sydney was the newer part because not a lot of building was done there until the Harbour Bridge was built. We also saw people climbing to the top of this bridge.






After the boat cruise, Sharon bought us bus tickets on the Red Sydney Explorer. This was a Hop On Hop Off Bus but we just stayed on for the whole trip. This bus took us around 27 stops or attractions inside Sydney. The full circuit took approximately two hours.
















Our bus ticket also included the Blue Bondi Explorer. This bus took us to another 19 attractions that went to the harbour locations and surf beaches. This took us another two hours. The driver was a little weird so we were happy to leave him.











The funniest part of our day was looking for ladies with strange hats while we rode the bus. That day was the horse race called Melbourne Cup being held in Melbourne. Well the people in Sydney take this horse racing very, very seriously. We saw ladies catching buses, taxi, and vans. Most of them were in a small group. They had on their best dress, high heels, and some had a hat. We found out later that there were MANY parties at restaurants and bar where both men and women come all dressed up to drink and watch the race. We noticed some places had a hostess checking for names before anyone could get in. There is always heavy betting on the race. Some parties lasted only a few hours but many went on and on and on.

It was a great day!!
