Hakodate, Japan

We found land!!! We were so excited to see land after so many days at sea. We looked out our window and saw all kinds of buses. We took the all day tour. First of all we had to present ourselves in person to Japanese Immigration. After the whole ship was cleared we left for our tour.


The first place we went was to a large fish market. I may never eat fish again in my life. We had our first Japanese bathroom. They had some of the most beautiful melons I have ever seen. Our guide took our picture in by the flowers at the market.



We had lunch at a nice restaurant where we had our second time with a bathroom. We never find out what all those buttons were for.



Later we had an aerial cable car ride to the top of Mt. Hakodate. It was a wonderful view. Next we went to Goryokaku Tower. From the top we could see the star-shaped Fort Goryokaku. This is where the last battle of the Shogunate and the Emperor's army.


Last we went to the Trappistine Convent home to over seventy nuns. We were happy to get back to our ship at six o'clock tonight.

Tell Logan that on the way back to the ship we past a Toys R Us. We couldn't believe it. The bus driver could not stop for us to go shopping. Sorry Logan!!
