There were no tours for Guernsey. We took the tender in and Dennis got a taxi cab driver to take us around the island.
Going to Guernsey is like stepping back in time. The island is only 25 miles around, 6,500 population, and no one needs to lock their homes or cars at night.
Guernsey is not part of the UK but rather a separate possession of the Crown.
Victor Hugo wrote Les Miserables while he was exiled there.
We saw the Little Chapel made of sea shells and broken pottery.
We also saw a few Guernsey cows. They are suppose to have the richest milk.
The island was occupied for 5 years by the Germans during World War II. Sharon was reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society book.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain
